She is also the Government’s appointed trustee to The Football Foundation. From 2010 to June 2017, Charlotte served as the Conservative Member of Parliament for Bristol North West. She specialised in the Middle East and sat on Select Committees for education and health. She was awarded the Spectator’s “Backbencher of the Year” award for her work on the NHS. Prior to entering politics, Charlotte worked in television production at the BBC, at charities including the National Autistic Society, and at the think tank “Policy Exchange”.  She studied at Balliol College, Oxford, where she read Classics. She is a regular contributor to national newspapers, television and radio. In her spare time, she enjoys surfing and very slowly learning Arabic.
