Nick Harrison was a lecturer at Cambridge and then UCL before moving to King’s College London, where he is Professor of French and Postcolonial Studies. He began his teaching career with jobs at the University of Tunis and a school in rural Quebec, which inspired an enduring interest in colonialism, colonial education, and the francophone world outside France, especially the Maghreb. He has also worked with schools, the Prince’s Teaching Institute and the A-Level Content Advisory Board. His lock-down interview with David Lammy about his experiences of education is available at: www.beinghumanfestival.org/in-conversation
