Aspen UK marked a significant occasion on Friday 24th October, with our third annual summit hosted at Google’s London headquarters. The event served as a platform for meaningful discussions and collaborative exploration on the topic of AI and leadership.
This year’s theme – Technology, Society, and the Innovations Shaping Tomorrow – brought together around 150 participants from across sectors: business, government, civil society, academia, philanthropy, and the creative industries. Many were alumni of Aspen UK’s leadership programmes, joined by new faces who are shaping policy, building organisations, and leading change on the ground.
Keynote speakers Vilas Dhar and Gabriela Ramos set the tone with a powerful call for inclusive AI, reminding us that technological transformation must be guided by human values.
Sessions throughout the day dug deeper into this challenge, examining the future of work, the realities of AI deployment, and the urgent need to ensure no communities are left behind as innovation accelerates.
For many of the 150 attendees, the most powerful takeaway was the importance of connection and community. Amid conversations on algorithms, data, and governance, one message stood out. Technology may shape tomorrow, but it is human relationships and shared purpose that define it.
The day ended with a reception, allowing attendees to network and forge connections across industries and geographies. The event highlighted the importance of exploring both the immense opportunities that AI presents in improving our lives, and the ethical challenges it creates for leaders in every sector. It reminded us of the vital role that dialogue and networks play in our lives, and the power of Aspen UK.
