We are delighted to announce the launch of our new series ‘Voices From a Broken System’, a three-part series of webinars in partnership with the Woolf Institute and the Commission on the Integration of Refugees.
Politicians, UK-citizens, and civil society groups all increasingly acknowledge that the system for those seeking asylum in the UK is broken. Inefficient, uncoordinated, and unfair, the UK system has damaging effects across society and for those seeking protection. Refugees often receive very limited government support to help their integration into UK society: they consequently struggle to learn English, find fulfilling work, access education, and reach their potential.
Throughout the series, we will be discussing the current refugee and asylum system, the social integration of refugees in the UK, and hope to find practical, feasible solutions.
We and our partners recognise that to avoid division, fragmentation, and silos, and to enact practical change beyond our convenings, we need to address these issues holistically. In order to create as open and productive a discussion as possible, the conversations will bring together people from across the political spectrum and from various stakeholder perspectives.

The webinars will culminate in an in-person event at the time of the Commission report launch at the end of the year.
