This is a closed discussion on the new digital regulatory frameworks emerging in the EU and UK, organised on behalf of the EU Delegation to the UK.
This is a closed event.
This discussion will focus on the expected impact of the new regulatory frameworks emerging in the EU and the UK, on digital platforms, services, and users. In 2020, as part of the EU’s objective to forge a safer digital space and stimulate digital innovation, growth, and competitiveness within the European Single Market and globally, the European Commission proposed two legislative initiatives: the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Digital Markets Act (DMA). Similarly, the UK government recently revealed plans for new digital regulation in response to the Online Harms Whitepaper it published in 2019 and will soon consult on a digital market pro-competition regime recommended by the Digital Markets Taskforce.
This event aims to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for UK digital enterprises as two new frameworks are introduced. It will seek opportunities for greater convergence in EU and UK policy, and creative solutions to challenges ahead.
