In this special NextGen reunion seminar, we’re inviting our NextGen network back to delve into the political, economic and social implications of AI’s growing power, and debate whether we are still in control of our professional and private lives. Guided by a series of carefully chosen texts, we’ll examine the rise of AI-driven technology, and the ethics attached to its design and implementation.
As a group, we’ll debate the value of AI and surveillance technology against its impact on our attention, creativity, personal relationships and freedom. How can we guarantee that emerging technologies reflect the values and ethics of our society? And how can leaders in the worlds of policy, tech and civil society agree on what those values are, and prioritise them?
The International Partners NextGen Netowork
How can we manage societal disruptions to the world of work? How do we deliver ethical AI in society? How can we leverage AI to address societal challenges?
The International Partners NextGen Network, supported by Microsoft, brings together young leaders from technology, business, policy, journalism, and civil society to take up these questions and leverage the NextGen perspective on the impact of technology around the world. The Network serves as a feedback mechanism for the informed perspectives of millennials on how societies should prepare themselves to respond to new technologies and inform policy discussions at the local and international level.
