You told us – we listened! We know that tuning in after work can be a struggle – so we’re integrating some alternative times for our Leadership in Focus Series – the first being Leadership & the Power of Words with William Sieghart, which you can tune into at 1pm – 2pm on Wednesday 31st May.
We’ll be discussing the power of words, the effect they can have on experiences, and how leaders utilise words. William knows only too well the powerful effect that words can have on an individual – and on their leadership, so we’re thrilled he will be joining us for this discussion.
William is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, writer and broadcaster.
In 1992, William founded the Forward Prizes for Poetry and in 1994, National Poetry Day. From 2015- 2021 he was chairman of the Board of Trustees at Somerset House, London. He is the founder and Chairman of Forward Thinking, a charity promoting a more inclusive peace process in the Middle East. William is also a trustee of the Docs Society, the Grenfell Foundation, the Forward Arts Foundation and is Chairman of Streetsmart.
For many years he was a member of the Arts Council UK and Chairman of its Lottery Committee. William is currently working with CIVIC on the Libraries Transformation Project. William has published many books and is a regular broadcaster. His books are The Poetry Pharmacy, The Poetry Remedy (US) and The Poetry Pharmacy Returns. He also curated 100 Prized Poems – 25 years of the Forward Books, Forward Poetry’s Poems of the Decade, and most recently Every Sang: A Poem for Every Feeling– a beautifully illustrated poetry anthology for children.
