Omar is immersed in the world of technology trends and innovation. In 2009 he founded ArabNet, organising the first conference in the Middle East focused on digital disruption, and then growing into publishing and research based on deep market insights. Over the last decade, he has helped catalyse the growth of the startup ecosystem and VC industry through organizing more than 30 conferences, publishing more than 15 research reports, and advising corporate and government clients on fostering digital innovation. Omar is also a venture investor; as a Partner at Flat6Labs Lebanon, he has invested in over 40 high-potential technology startups and is actively involved in advising numerous fast-growth startups on fundraising. Omar serves on a number of Boards, including the Advisory Board of the Strategic Foresights Initiatives of the Middle East Institute in Washington DC; the Board of the Yale Arab Alumni Association; and the Board of Trustees of the American Community School of Beirut. He has a BA in Ethics, Politics & Economics and an MBA from Yale University.
