Aspen UK Leadership Seminars gather diverse groups of leaders and challenge them to explore the personal and institutional values that anchor their leadership. The participants will then explore effective solutions to pressing social issues. This leadership seminar will be held in Lampeter at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
The seminar ‘Leadership Values and the Common Good’ will consider some of the fundamental issues driving our rapidly changing political, economic and social landscapes. We will begin by looking at the state of democracy and Western Liberalism, and then address the underlying tensions between equality and freedom. In doing so, we will explore what effective leadership looks like in challenging times.
Throughout the discussions, we will draw on the roles of personal and collective responsibility in driving effective change. By welcoming participants from a variety of sectors, we hope to broaden their perceptions of how they can thrive in our professional and public spheres.
The seminar will be led by Ruth Girardet. Ruth has been moderating Aspen seminars in the UK and Europe since 2013 and has over 20 years of professional experience in corporate responsibility and ethics. She has extensive knowledge of how the corporate and charity sectors can work together to address issues of social justice.
