Seminars

Bringing together outstanding people to explore effective solutions to pressing social issues.

Aspen Seminars bring together people from across geographical and generational spectrums, and from across the corporate, political, creative, academic, and third sectors, to discuss, reflect, and debate. We encourage leaders not only to inform thought, but to transform perspective.

We run single- and multi-day seminars, online and in person, creating unique spaces which foster genuine conversations and allow for flexibility, creativity, and diversity.

The aspen Method

Aspen seminars are text-based, designed around carefully selected readings which range from classical political thought to contemporary literature of global origin. These readings provide an insightful starting point for a productive exchange of ideas, which in turn helps us guide conversations with a diverse group.

The readings are chosen by the seminar’s professional moderator, whose role is to guide the discussion. The moderator will not lecture, and will not provide answers, but will ask questions about the texts and ensure that each participant has the chance to be heard.

Our commitment to identifying and engaging leaders outside of traditional networks puts diversity at the core of our activities. We know that network-building can bridge political, social, and cultural divides, and help find creative solutions to our most pressing problems. We believe this is the key to fostering the values-based leadership our society needs.

Aspen seminars serve as a foundation for discussion on potentially sensitive or polarising topics, and for this reason follow the Chatham House rule.

In finding ways to listen more and judge less, we create the conditions for that rare occurrence – a genuine conversation about the things that matter.
